Dollar Shave Club

The premise is simple: most men need a razor, and know they are being overcharged for the big brands. Enter Dollar Shave Club, where for a dollar a month (you can pay $6 or $9 for better blades, but that message isn’t nearly half as eye-catching) you can have a new blades sent direct to you each month.

When the company launched with their viral ad campaign back in March, the offer almost seemed too good to be true. Not so thought Venrock, an investment company who have been reported to have raised nearly $10m dollars in funding.

While some people have questioned the quality of the blades, the quality of the brand can’t be faulted. An investment of that size would seem to confirm that. Apparently the unboxing is great too.
