Peter Jackson’s take on an epic film is an admirable one. The state-of-the-art graphics and special effects are second to none, bringing this beast of an animal to life.
Generally the acting is good, if at times overstated. The 1933 original King Kong is just over an hour and a half long, and although Jackson’s remake adds nothing extra to the storyline it is almost double the length.
Unfortunately this is the only, but yet crucial, failing of the film. Unlike this review King Kong is unnecessarily long and doesn’t know when to stop.
